Martin Pederson
Martin Pederson, 90, of Morris, Illinois, passed away Thursday July 8, 2010, at the Walnut Grove Nursing Home. Martin was born on October 15, 1919 in Nettle Creek Township, the son of the late Thomas B. and Julia (Berkland) Pederson.
He was educated in the rural schools of Morris, Illinois. He farmed on Southmor Road until his retirement in 1986 when he moved into Morris. He has resided at the Walnut Grove Home since 2005.
Martin loved the great outdoors, and enjoyed farming because of his love for nature.
He is survived by two sisters, Marge Pederson of Chicago, Illinois and Jeanette Pederson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one grand-niece, Kim Vacca of Morris, Illinois; and a great grand nephew Eric Vacca, of Morris, Illinois.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tilman; a sister, Alma and her husband Charles “Chuck” Vacca; and three nephews, Bud, Bob and Gary Vacca.
Funeral Services will be conducted on July 12, 2010 at 11:00am in the U. C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home LTD, 301 W. Washington St., Morris, Illinois, with Pastor David Nygard of Messiah Lutheran Church in Joliet officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
