<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     SHE WAS EMPLOYED WITH THE COUNTY HOME BUREAU IN MORRIS, ILLINOIS DURING THE 1940’S. WITH HER HUSBAND, THEY FARMED IN THE VERONA AREA THROUGH THE 1950’S. IN 1967, WITH HER FAMILY, SHE MOVED INTO MAZON TO MAKE HER HOME. IN 1970, SHE ENTERED THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE MAZON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AS THE SCHOOL SECREARY, RETIRING IN 1994. </strong></font></p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Mrs. Clyde ( Charlotte I. ) Benson Mason, 90, of Morris, Illinois, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, August 26, 2010,in Morris Healthcare &amp; Rehabilitation Center, with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 23, 1920 in Nettle Creek Township, Grundy County, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph &amp; Violet Jackson Hall.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     She received her elementary education in Dix School in Nettle Creek Township and Graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1938.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Charlotte married Floyd E. Benson on September 14, 1941 in Stavanger Lutheran Church &amp; he preceded her on October 28, 1968. She married Clyde F. Mason on February 17, 1985 in Stavanger Lutheran Church. </strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     She was employed with the Morris Paper Mill and then with the Grundy County Circuit Clerk’s office for over 10 years, retiring in 1986.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Charlotte enjoyed quilting, sewing ,baking, and traveling with her husband to Florida in the winter time. She was a league bowler at Echo Lanes in Morris, Illinois. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and always looked forward to  times spent with the family, especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     She was a lifetime member of Stavanger Lutheran Church.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Surviving is her loving husband of over 25 years, Clyde, of rural Morris, Illinois; one daughter, Cheryle ( Greg ) Larson, Morris, Illinois; three grandsons, Chad ( Jackie ) Larson of Diamond, Illinois, Eric Larson of Morris, Illinois, &amp; A. J. Larson of Tempe, Arizona; one great granddaughter, Sydney; step-daughter, Carolyn Mason, Cornelia, Georgia; six step-grandchildren;  six step-great grandchildren; one brother, Clifford ( Eunice ) Hall of Morris, Illinois; and several nieces &amp; nephews.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Preceded by her parents; one grandson, Brad Larson on April 27, 2008; one sister, Vera Hausken; one nephew, Brian Hausken.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font style="font-size: 16pt" size="4"><strong><font size="3">     Friends may call on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 2:00 – 5:00 p. m. at U. C. Davis &amp; Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, Illinois, 60450. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday August 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Stavanger Lutheran Church, 2904 N. 32</font><sup><font size="3">nd</font></sup><font size="3">. Rd., Seneca, Illinois with Rev. Philip Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Stavanger Cemetry. </font></strong></font></p>

<p>      Gerald Lynn Swihart of Morris, Ilinois, passed away August 12, 2010 at Morris Hospital with his loving family at his side, after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">&nbsp;</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Born April 24, 1952 in Salina, Kansas, he was the son of the late L. Clinton Swihart and Cora (Miller) Swihart.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Gerald was active in the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Salina High School with the Class of 1970. He received his BS in Nuclear Engineering from Kansas State University in December of 1974.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     He married Sharon Emily Stankis on August 18, 1973 in Portland, Maine.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Gerald and Sharon moved to Morris, Illinois, in January 1975, when Gerald was hired by ComEd (now Exelon). Through his 29 years at LaSalle County Station he served in a variety of positions including Quality Assurance, Tech Staff Supervisor, Shift Control Room Engineer, Regulatory Assurance, and Electrical Engineering Department.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">&nbsp;</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Gerald was an active member of the First Christian Church of Morris, Illinois, for 35 years, serving as a deacon, elder, youth worker, choir member, ministry team leader, and Sunday School teacher.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     He was an active volunteer in the community with Mobile Meals, the Grundy County Nursing Home, Red Cross Disaster Team, Boy Scouts, and as a blood donor.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sharon; his three children, David (Elizabeth) Swihart of Springfield, IL, Elizabeth (T.J.) D’Orazio of Oswego, IL, and Daniel Swihart of Lincoln, IL.; one granddaughter, Ellise; one brother, Ron (Netta) Swihart of Witchita, KS,.; one sister Nancy (Tim) Benson of Colorado Springs, CO.; one sister-in-law Wanda Swihart of Pelham, AL.; and numerous nieces and nephews.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don, and a sister in infancy.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Gerald was a faithful husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather. He was a devoted Exelon employee, filled with generosity, and most importantly a faithful, obedient believer in Jesus Christ. His presence will be missed by his family, his church, and his community.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">     Friends may call on Sunday August 15, 2010 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 455 W. Southmor Rd., Morris, Illinois. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, August 16, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the church with Dr. Charles Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Sample Cemetery.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Mrs. Paul ( Gladys I. ) Chitwood, 93, Bloomington, Illinois, formerly  of Morris, Illinois,  passed away peacefully Monday evening, August 9, 2010 in Martin Health Center in Bloomington, Illinois, in the presence of her daughter, Ruth Ann Fraker, and her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1917 in Morris, Illinois, the daughter of Henry &amp; Laura Bols Barschdorf Sr. </strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     She was educated in AuxSable Twp. Elementary School and Morris High School.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Gladys married her high school sweetheart on July 1, 1938 in her parents home in Vienna Township, Grundy County, Illinois.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Along with being a homemaker, Gladys held various jobs in her lifetime, and retired from the Grundy County Nursing Home in 1979. She served as a volunteer for many years with the Morris Hospital Auxiliary.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font style="font-size: 16pt" size="4"><strong><font size="3">     Gladys was a member of the First</font><sup><font size="3"> </font></sup><font size="3">United Methodist Church in Morris, Illinois, for over fifty years.  She was</font></strong></font><font style="font-size: 16pt" size="4"><strong><font size="3">  very active in the Miriam Circle and the United </font></strong></font><font style="font-size: 16pt" size="4"><strong><font size="3">Methodist Women and was a Past member of the Order of Eastern Star.</font></strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Family and friends were the center of Glady’s life and she was extremely proud of her four generation family.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     Survived by daughter, Ruth Ann ( Guy ) Fraker of Bloomington, Illinois; t</strong></font><font size="3"><strong>wo granddaughters, Julie ( Keith ) Brannan, Bloomington, Illinois, &amp; Lisa Sikora, Denver, Co.; two Great Grandchildren, Ella &amp; Joshua Brannan; and several nieces &amp; nephews.</strong></font></p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     MRS. DONALD ( BETTY J. ) STERRITT, 62, MORRIS, ILLINOIS, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY TUESDAY AFTERNOON, AUGUST 3, 2010 IN FOSTER G. McGAW HOSPITAL IN PROVISO TOWNSHIP, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, WITH HER LOVING FAMILY AT HER BEDSIDE. SHE WAS BORN ON NOVEMBER 26, 1947, IN MORRIS, ILLINOIS TO RUSSEL A. &amp; VIRGINIA WILKINSON PHILLIPS.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     SHE RECEIVED HER ELEMENTARY EDUCATION AT HUME SCHOOL IN WAUPONSEE TOWNSHIP, AND GRADUATED FROM MORRIS COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE CLASS OF 1966. SHE RECEIVED HER REGISTERED NURSING DEGREE FROM ST. JOSEPH’S SCHOOL OF NURSING WITH THE CLASS OF 1969.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     BETTY MARRIED DONALD W. STERRITT JR. ON APRIL 11, 1970 IN THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN MORRIS, ILLINOIS.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     SHE STARTED HER CAREER IN NURSING AS A CANDY STRIPER AT THE MORRIS HOSPITAL. AFTER HER GRADUATION FROM NURSING SCHOOL, SHE WAS EMPLOYED WITH THE MORRIS HOSPITAL FOR OVER 40 YEARS, WHERE SHE WAS CURRENTLY THE TWO SOUTH MED SURGE MANAGER.</strong></font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><font size="3"><strong>     BETTY LOVED SPENDING HER TIME SPOILING HER GRANDCHILDREN WITH LOVE AND GIFTS, RIDING MOTORCYCLES WITH HER HUSBAND DONNIE, AND TENDING TO HER FLOWER GARDENS.</strong></font></p>

<p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt" class="yiv197943403yiv1491262151yiv1289927424MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">     Jeffrey Mohr Erickson, 48, of Seneca, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday July 28, 2010 at Morris Hospital.<span>  </span>He was married at <span id="lw_1280543296_6" class="yshortcuts">Daytona Bike Week</span> to his love, Lenore (Sokolinski) of Morris, Illinois, and they shared joy in their three kids, Alice 22, Nicole 18 and <span style="border-bottom: #366388 2px dotted; cursor: hand" id="lw_1280543296_7" class="yshortcuts">Maxwell</span> 11.<span>  </span>Jeffrey was born on May 12, 1962 in Harvey, Illinois and raised in Hazel Crest, Illinois, son to the late Earl Erickson and Shirley (Mohr) Erickson currently of Monee, Illinois.<span>   </span></font></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt" class="yiv197943403yiv1491262151yiv1289927424MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">     Jeffrey is the youngest brother to his sister Margo (Terry) Conway of <span id="lw_1280543296_8" class="yshortcuts">Tinley Park</span> and his two brothers Roger Erickson of Monee, Illinois, and John (Sharon) Erickson of <span style="border-bottom: #366388 2px dotted; cursor: hand" id="lw_1280543296_9" class="yshortcuts">Tinley Park, Illinois</span>.<span>   </span>Jeffrey was blessed to have many nieces, nephews and cousins that will always hold him dear in their hearts.</font></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt" class="yiv197943403yiv1491262151yiv1289927424MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">     Jeffrey Erickson was a Brother and Member of the <span id="lw_1280543296_10" class="yshortcuts">Local 150 Operating Engineers</span> Union.<span>  </span>He was employed by Metrolift Inc in <span style="border-bottom: #366388 2px dotted; background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand" id="lw_1280543296_11" class="yshortcuts">Sugar Grove</span>, for the past 3 years, prior to that he was an employee at <span id="lw_1280543296_12" class="yshortcuts">Illinois</span> Truck and Equipment of Morris, Illinois.<span>  </span></font></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt" class="yiv197943403yiv1491262151yiv1289927424MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">     Jeffrey and his wife, Lenore, owned and operated Erickson’s Signs &amp; Designs of Seneca, Illinois, for the past 5 years.<span>  </span>Jeffrey gave to his community through volunteering on the Seneca Car Show Committee, through donations and help to the schools in any way he could.<span>  </span>He was also a member at <span style="border-bottom: #366388 2px dotted; background: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; cursor: hand" id="lw_1280543296_13" class="yshortcuts">Woodsmoke Ranch</span> in Seneca, Illinois, where he will be greatly missed.<span>  </span></font></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt" class="yiv197943403yiv1491262151yiv1289927424MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">     For anyone that knew him, he was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to many near and far.<span>  </span>He was an avid Motorcycle enthusiast, sharing this love with his wife Lenore.<span>  </span>He was taken from this life too early, but he led a full happy life with his family and friends, and his only regret would be he wasn’t still here with them today.</font></span></p>

Davis &amp; Son’s Funeral Home LTD., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, Illinois, 60450.<span>  </span>Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday Aug. 4th, 2010 at 10:30 am also at U.C. Davis &amp; Sons Funeral Home LTD., 301 Washington Street, Morris, Illinois.</font></span></p>
